Ah! Summer is here and the women in California are beautiful. The band has been pretty busy and have not had the time to update this page. The guys all took a vacation recently. Dustin went down to Arizona, Alex checked out Colorado and Ivan visited the great Humbolt/Mendocino Coastline. Jayme stayed in town getting into lots of trouble, but more importantly has been doing a lot spoken word readings. Al, Ivo, and D have also gone motorcylce crazy and every band practice sounds like the freakin' Hells Angels are showing up.

The good news is that they are getting shows left and right. CHECK THE SHOW PAGE PEOPLE! They are also adding some very cool stuff to this ol' website. Soon a full media page will be up and running providing you fine people with interviews, radio shows, and bootleg videos.

Every first and third tuesday, the boys are playing at Murphys Irish Pub in Sonoma. It is a little mellower compared to their normal shows, but just as stinging. Show up and hoist a pint in the name of ROCK N ROLL! After all, the first one happened on 6/06/06, how cool is that?

Also in the works is a deal beteween the Merchants and Monarch Apparell. A fine merchandise company run by hell raising musicians who know an offensive product when they see one. Soon we will have a full music/merchandise page up too.

In July, the boys are going to be going into the recording studio to record the official second Merchant Album. The songs are killer and everyone is really excited about the direction the music has taken. Remember, the music grabs you, you don't grab the music!

In October, Spell Merchants will play their annual Helloween show, but that will be it because they will filming two videos for you, the Fan. Of course one would have to be extreme horror, come on, Jayme's in the band, but the other is a big surprise and I can tell you that no band through out the Bay Area has even attempted to do what the Merchants will pull off.

Time to kill some rumors. We are not playing Burning Man. This was not exactly up to us and we are terribly sorry. Second of all, there has been some talk about our e.p. Tales from the Merchant Lair Vol. I. Here is the deal: This e.p. was recorded in our studio celebrating Ivo joining the band. A tape of current material was needed for getting shows. Some members in the band decided it was good enough to release lo-fi style. Other members were not too keen on that being a public listening product. You will be able to find it at Merchant shows and the band will continue to release in house tapes from the Merchant Lair, but they will not be a heavily promoted or distributed. Speaking of heavy, yes those four songs are some of the heaviest stuff the lads have put to amplifiers, the funny thing is, is the next batch of songs were mellower and more atmospheric. Point being the SPELLMERCHANTS do what they feel is true and answer to NO ONE! Vol II will probably be acoustic or involve a lot of our friends. Third and final. If you see any of us playing music with other people, calling it bands or talking about making an album with friends, this is because we are musicians. While we love everyone in the band, somtimes it is fun to go play with other cats. Remember kids, you can do that in ROCK N ROLL, but you can't do it in your relationship.

Have fun and go explore our website, drop us line and tell us what you think. Come to a show and have a beer. And as always.....
Hail the Merchants!
